Cold

Today was the first real cold run I've had this year. 7:00am on our paved running trail and the temperature was 15 degrees (Fahrenheit). Numb fingers, toes, and heavy chest to start the run. What to wear for this weather asks my freinds in PHX? Tri Shorts, Long Pants/tights, long sleeve technical shirt, wicking fleece or heavy tech shirt, wind breaker vest, light balaclava, stocking cap and fleece gloves. I went with standard socks. I'll save the smartwools for below zero. By February, it won't seem like this was a real cold day but it felt like it today. MD still had red hands when we were done but at least no one got frostnip in the shorts.

It was dark and very clear but the moon gave enough light that I didn't need a headlamp. It didn't get light until about 7:30. We ran 10 miles but it was a little quicker than I wanted to run. I think MD was up for more miles but no one enthusiastically agreed to 13 miles. He is always up for more miles or at least claims to be.

We were hoping to see some of our MIT friends but we missed J-Fo and the GF. They both ran though. Double-D skipped this morning to have breakfast with Santa. We all know he is a little old for it but I think he wanted to ask for some new sneakers and a little speed.

Got 2600 in the pool yesterday, maybe run and spin tomorrow if I don't rage too hard tonight.

Stats
10 miles (1:17)
164 lbs (honestly Nemo)
