Ironman training plan has me at the track on Thursday as opposed to Tuesday like the marathon training schedule. I was mostly still asleep when MD gave the workout plan. He said 10 400s hard with 400 hard, 400 recovery. I asked a few questions and tried to understand pacing and total distance. I took it to mean 5 x 400 with 400 recovery. After I pushed hard the first 5 MD and GS went for a 6th. I figured they just wanted a little more work. I slowly jogged on the outside doing some acceleration on the straights. After the 7th 400 by MD and GS, I started thinking...oh now I get it. It was actually 10 x 400 with 400 recovery. I managed to bang out 3 more 400s with 400 recovery between.
2 mile Warm up
5 x 400 on 1:20 - 1:25 with 400 recovery
goof around for 3-4 laps
3 x 400 on 1:25 - 1:30 with 400 recovery
1 mile cool down
Nemo worked through his last track workout before his marathon looking good. He is getting restless though.
Rain will kill tonight's group ride so I'll hit the trainer in the basement for 60 minutes.
