Usain Bolt...Your Record is Safe

Well, I didn't meet the fellas at 5:30 am. I had a great excuse when the alarm went off at 5:00am but I can't remember what it was. Seriously, I don't think I'll be joining them much in the near future. I did get out and run 8 miles from Wilson Bridge down the bike path around sunrise and I am SLOW. 8 miles in 1:11:xx. At least it was under a 9 minute/mile pace. It is amazing how quickly the speed disappears when you don't work on it. I put up a couple fast miles in Phoenix last week and thought I was going to pass out.

I'm officially injured and it is Feebs fault. More on that in a minute. My left calf is tight/sore/pulled whatever. It hurts to walk and run. I thought it was hurt on Monday with MD at Highbanks. I was pretty sure it was hurt when I walked up the stairs Monday after the run. It was questionable on Monday night at Spin Class. There were lingering questions when I did my leg workout yesterday. Today , as I ice it, I am certain it is hurt. So here is why I blame Feebs…

Last week in Tucson, Feebs kept telling my how bad the burn mark on my right calf looked. He mentioned it in each bar we went to and then again in the next morning on our run. So, I figured I would do heavy calf raises until the burn mark went away. Needless to say, tons of calf raises do not remove burn marks. I'll take tomorrow off and just swim. I might hit the gym later this afternoon to do some curls (for the girls) and then the early evening spinning class.

Couple other things I found on the internet of interest. For those that are Lance Armstrong fans. He has a 'Twitter' site. Twitter is a site, like a blog, where you can make posts but you are limited to 140 characters. You can send updates to it via SMS (text messaging to the layperson). If you are obsessed with LA and want to know his every move, he'll tell you. You can even subscribe to get a text message on your phone every time he has a post. I’m pretty sure I know a guy that rides a sweet Trek Madone that will be all over it.

This is a cool site LA mentioned yesterday of athletes including LA in training. Click here.

Stats:
8 miles (1:11:xx)

Maybe the sore calf muscle is from busting out the 6:30 pace while out here in Phoenix. At any rate...rest it up and don't do too much. You have a few pretty improtant races this year. One in April (that I hope to join you in) and the other in about 234 days, 13 hours, 13 min, and 14 sec...wait 10 sec...
