More Snow? You bet. This time it’s colder!

Well, the snow has put a halt to any normal training. I took Thursday off except a little spinning. My guilt caused me to put in two sessions on the treadmill today after my morning swim. I was informed that I have the least number of miles in the weekly weekend training partners in MRC(am) although I’m sure I have more miles than Double-D and J-Fo.

So as we head into a deep snow and colder spell, there have been some adjustments to tomorrow’s planned long run. Nemo through out the following option (modified slightly because he can't type):

It’s supposed to be a great day tomorrow. I figured we’d meet at 7am at Bob Evans and start the event. First up, sausage patties, how many can you consume in a 2 x 15 min interval, with a 5 min blueberry muffin recovery. This would be followed by pancake repeats, maple syrup is optional, but we should probably get in at least 3 repeats. In between each set, we will consume mass quantities of recovery coffee/tea. We can then finish off with a mini Snicker/Reese Peanut Butter Cup brick workout.

Now I thought this sounded fun and daunting but I could handle it. I even through out the old “screw it let go have drinks and stay out late” workout. Fortunately cooler head prevailed and we’ll be moving to a morning swim (optional), one hour treadmill run or outside run (depending on your tolerance for cold), and a one to two hour spinning session. The long run is rescheduled to Sunday when it will be a balmy 34 degrees. It only took 47 emails to arrive at this plan.

As a side note, there are a couple “master” runners in my morning swim class. They are gearing up for San Antonio marathon in a couple weeks. They have a 22 miler on the training schedule this weekend and I think they are going to plow through it in the cold and snow. No pun intended. They are 8:30 milers so it is a long morning when the temp is supposed to be 3 degrees.

I'm looking into a long-distance relay this fall. So far this is the front-runner.

This would allow GS to recover from IM Wisconsin and anything involving bourbon has to be good.

I'm still waiting for the pull-up contest... I'll take all challengers.
