I did a second run in the afternoon because the weather was so nice. I dropped by Highbanks to run 2 loops on the wooded course. I figured after a few days of warm weather the gravel trail would be a little better. I was wrong. I came down a hill a little out of control and lost my footing. I tried to make a soft landing in the woods to avoid the ice but had a good fall. Fortunately I did not bang my head and pass out because I think I would still be out in the woods. I did however suffer this:
Not to be deterred, I drove down to Wilson Bridge and churned out 6 slow miles. I got passed by 2 kids on the Worthington Cross Country team and that did irk me a bit but then I remembered that I had a car, my own place, and didn't live at home like they do.
Tomorrow morning I'm meeting J-Fo at the gym for some lifting. That dude is a monster in the gym. I'm hoping to make a few laps in the pool as well. Speaking of swimming, I think Nemo had his consultation with his swim instructor so he is on his way to getting ready for Steelhead. What a great week!
