Ugh

This last cold spell is killing me. The gym this morning was not impressive. I kind of just loafed between a few leg exercises. Leg Press, one-legged squats, leg extensions, and dead lifts were all I could muster. It took me a full 30 minutes of reading running blogs and running news to get me out the door for a 4-miler at lunch. I seriously took like 15 minutes changing clothes secretly hoping my phone would ring and I’d have a reason to skip it. My evening spinning session didn’t even cause me to break a sweat.

This is kind of troubling. I’m heading out to Tucson Friday for a week of riding, running, and swimming. If I am seriously burned out or tired, this will be a wasted week. I’m really hoping it is just the weather here that is causing my training lull.

The rest of the week is going to be kind of easy. I’m spending significant time in airports and hotels getting back in town late Thursday. I hope I have the energy for one last swim workout on Friday morning and maybe I get a run or two at the hotel treadmill. Finally, on Friday afternoon, I’ll head for the desert.

I got a bit of a race update from my sister-in-law. She, along with my brother and my buddy Feebs, were part of a 200 mile relay run over the weekend. It sounds like a really cool time. You can read her race report here and see some pics here.

Stats
4 miles (no timing)
90 minutes spinning
159 lbs

It's the weather, I'm finding the motivation for the morning am run fading fast with this cold. You'll be reinvigorated in the desert. Have a good training week, and have fun picking up after md.

Maybe you should just take this week off. Do a little yoga instead of the tri disciplines. OR bust your butt this week and skip Tuscon to stay with your family in Phoenix. We can't wait to see your face!!
