Columbus International Triathlon Race Report

115 out of the water with a 16:33...I lost 6 minutes to the fastest swimmer and more than 2 to everyone in the top ten. If only I could swim. I had a good bike and run to come in at 1:17:25. 25 seconds would have gotten me top ten overall but I ended up 6th in my age group. So many people were so close. Since it was a time trial start, it was tough to gauge where everyone else was on the course.

Still it was a good way to prepare for Lake Placid this weekend. I was feeling good on the bike and the transition to the run didn't hurt much. Let's get ready to race!

Well maybe I'll sit around for most of the week and then race.

The rest of the MRC(am) guys had less than perfect days. Nemo was still traveling back from vacation. MD missed the run turn around and ran an extra couple miles. Still won his age group but missed out on the overall (2:11:28). GS had a good bike split but a calf pull hurt his normally strong run (2:20:11).

Stats
800 yard swim
15 mile ride
3.1 mile run
154 lbs
