Lake Placid Plan

The weather has turned for the better. Forecast is for scattered T-Storms and high in the mid-70s. Let's race.

The plan for the swim is to lag towards the back to avoid the "fight" then slowly work from the wide side to the cable line. I'm hoping to beat my previous time of 1:22 but I may fall a little short since I'm employing the new, stay out of the mess strategy.

For the bike, I'll go easy out on first lap and the build into a good pace. I'm hoping to go through the first lap in 3:10 and the second in 2:50s. That will set me up for the run. My last trip to LP I went 6:30 some on the bike but I'm bringing almost 3000 miles to the table with 1200 on the tri bike.

Ideally, I start the run at the 7:30 to 7:40 mark. That's not my pace but time into the race. With my last 2 marathons I ran 3:09 and 3:13. My previous best after 112 miles on the bike is 4:30 some. I like to think I can run a sub-4:00. We'll see what happens. I'd rather go for a good race than "race to finish" as I have in the past so my prediction is 11:40 or 13:30.

I'm going to take a little nap then I'll find some dinner. I'll need to be up by 4:00 am since I'm walking the mile to the sart. Wish me luck.
