2nd to Last Post of 2009

For those that don't know, a few of the MRC(am) boys and I are heading to California, PA for a big race this weekend. Nemo has invited us all back to his home state for a 50K trail run. Nemo has been talking about this race for a year now. It is supposed to be about 90% trail and some brutal climbs. It is a 3 loop so we have the option of just going 1 or 2. My plan is 1 loop so it won't be my first "ultra marathon" but who knows, maybe I'll feel up for it. I'm really only going to make fun of his hometown and because Yingling Beer isn't sold in Ohio. In any event, it should be fun.

Last run of the year. MD is down in Hotlanta and taunting us about the warm weather but we got this to toughen the soul. I'd love to tell you that the flash was off or that this was early in the morning but this is about as bright as it got outside today. That which doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger. GS, Nemo and I met mid day for a run from Wilson Bridge. Nice easy pace and we even slowed enough to chuck a few snowballs.

I took a good fall last winter and banged my leg up pretty bad. This fall I read some good things about YakTrax so I picked up a pair. Today was my first run in them. There probably wasn't enough ice or snow to make a fair assesment of their ability on ice but they stayed in place and didn't cause any discomfort. I'll give a better report when I get a few more winter miles on them.

Stats
8 mile run (1:07:45)
159 lbs
