I can never really remember if the official date is the 21st or the 22nd or if it changes from year to year. In any manner, it is both a hated day and a renaissance. Renaissance because deep in the earth, the axis is done shifting us to darkness and starting a movement towards light. Hated because its always freaking dark. For example, I started my day going to the gym and it was dark. I left the gym, went to the office and it was dark. I left the office, went back to the gym and it was dark. I left the gym, went home and it was dark. You can see a reoccuring theme here. On the upside though, this is as bad as it gets from a sunlight stand point. Sure February is probably the worst month of the year for weather and general winter malaise but we get more sunlight than we do in December.
Having gotten that off my chest, let me tell you about MRC(am) starting with me. It's only fair since I write this thing. I'm committed to starting the New Year as healthy as possible. My achilies is not bothering me too much this week but it is tender when I press on it. I'm going to check it again tomorrow. I'd like to get out for a few miles this week. If not, no biggie. For now, I'm doing some lifting and spinning.
MD, GS, and Nemo are working hard. GS is trying a new high mileage training plan. I'm guessing he was up around 80 mile last week. He and MD put a few 18 mile days in the last couple weekends. That is mostly unheard of in my past training plans. I'm usually coasting with 10 milers through November and December. Nemo has been getting his normal in-season weekly mileage and spending his weekends on the trails in PA. As you can guess, the boys are fit and fast. They are going to thrash me in January.
Double-D made his first MIT workout. I think he had 4 miles. Good to see him back at it. Hope he makes his midweek runs. J-Fo is still just lifting but I think he can bench more than me now.
Dr. DB is not posting quite as much but he should be tuning up for a big day here soon. I think he has a half marathon in January and then he is going to take a crack at a sub-3 a little later in the New Year if he stays healthy.

That's about it for now. Have a Merry Christmas.
Stats
