Just Keep Swimming Swimming Swimming

So here I am, going on day my 12th day with no running. I'm sticking to the plan of 21 days off to see if I can get healthy. The rest of the boys are not fairing well in late January. GS is taking a week off because of a tweeked calf. Nemo says he has "sludge in his lungs", and MD is busy getting vaccinated and studying Indian culture for his trip to Mumbai.

The weather is terrible. Overcast and 20s most of the time with the occasional dusting of snow. Seriously, I need to reevaluate living in the Midwest. Then again, I say that every January and February.

Last week, I was able to keep busy going to the gym and got a little ride outside. This week, I just finished my 4th straight day of swimming. If I make my masters Friday morning that will be 5 days in a row. I admit, I'm not really that interested in the swim block but I have a couple reasons. The first is that I need to do something aerobic. The second is I'm going to try to participate in a study at OSU for swimming and triathletes. MD is already in the study. His report is that there is a lot of yardage required. I hope I get in. Nothing like free stroke analysis, video, and lactate threshold testing. I'll submit my application today and see if I get in.

Monday: 2800 yard swim
Tuesday: 1400 yard swim (non-stop)
Wednesday: 2000 yard swim (non stop)
Thursday: 2400 yard swim

What is the difference between a non-stop (Tuesday) and a non stop (Wednesday) swim? I am pretty sure, I don't like either type.
