Tucson Training Camp Day 6

Yeah, I know, it is better to update this daily than all at once but I finally have a few minutes of not cleaning up after MD. He's gone off to the Casino tonight to try to win back the $200 he gave them early in the week. As I'm sure you would all have guessed, I've spent the week doing dishes. I think MD believes there is a magic ferry that puts dishes from the sink and counter top into the dishwasher. Poor Mrs. MD, I feel for you.

After the hard day at Bartlett Lake yesterday, MD and I drove back to Tucson. A few more hours of XM Satellite Radio, power ballads, hair bands, and disco we got back to the Tucson HQ. Since we really haven't been doing much we went out for a bit and I MIGHT have had a few Vodka Tonics. Either way, my 7:30 am conference call seemed to come real early. After grabbing a bit to eat and drinking lots of water, we headed out for one of our ritual runs. Saguaro Canyon is a little park on the western side of town. It is an 8 mile loop with lots of hills. MD and I each ran our own pace so you can probably guess that means I was alone at the back again. I was just soaking in the sun and sky when I was startled by the world's biggest rabbit. This thing had HUGE ears and stood almost 3 feet high. Feebs had jokingly mentioned yesterday that the dessert jack rabbit is a carnivore. I did not want to find out... This made me pick up the pace a bit. Here is a profile of the run.

If you ever get down this way, it is a great little park that really give you a good sense of the area. This runs right up against the foothills. You can drive or run the 8 mile paved loop but there is also a number of hiking trails off into the foothills. This is one of my favorite runs to just take in the southwest scenery.

I finally got a little nap in the afternoon and a late afternoon ride over to Mount Lemmon. I rolled up 2 miles to look out over the city. MD went out to for a second run and a little tempo work. That's about it for the day. Tomorrow we'll take morning ride and then head back up to Phoenix for dinner with some family and friends.

Stats
8 mile run (1:13)
20 mile ride (no timing)

I am so glad someone understands what it is like living with Mario. I am not Mrs. Brady and he is not Mike, but we could really use an Alice.
