Tucson was nice on Saturday morning. Since we had rented the condo, we had to clean it before we left or pay a $200 cleaning fee. That meant that is was best to clean the place up before we left for morning workout so we wouldn't be rushed. To EVERYONE's surprise, I must say MD did his fare share of cleaning. I half expected him to disappear for an hour while I got everything in the laundry and dishwasher but he did his part.
We decided that we'd run the first few miles up Mt Lemmon since at least one of us will be doing the Mt Lemmon Marathon this fall. We parked about a mile away and started running at the behemoth hill. It was slow and tough but I felt that it might be doable. We got a lot of encouragement from all the cyclist that were riding up and down so that helped. It was interesting to see the hill as a runner. I've ridden all or part of it close to a dozen times and never noticed this sweet house.

We were probably averaging about 10:00 minute per mile on the way up to the fee station. I don't think I'll be able to average that for the marathon though. I'll likely have to take a few walking breaks, maybe a nap, and a change of clothes on race day. It will get cold at higher elevations. The short run gave me a little confidence that the run was possible. I wore my Garmin to share some data with you but it had some difficulties. According to the elevation measurement, I jumped off a cliff at mile 6. As you can clearly see by my heart rate, either I did not jump off a cliff or I am a very calm faller.

After the run, we took one last little ride before hustling back to Phoenix. We had some dinner reservations to get to and I had a pre-dinner obligation to my niece. Dinner was at a great Mexican place. Very good food at a very good price. Thanks to our hosts Dr. DB and his wife, Julie and Chris for meeting us for dinner & Feebs for the whipping at Bartlett. See you all later.
