Last run of 2008

Typical Highbanks run on the wooded trail and meadows trail this morning at sunrise. It was cold and windy as usual; like 24 degrees and wind gusts to 35 mph. There was a nice dusting of snow though. I dropped by Lifetime to meet J-Fo for some leg strength training afterwards but it was really a waste of time. My legs are heavy from yesterday’s interval work for sure. No juice in the legs.

Tomorrow I’m going for a new PR on the 5K. Here is the race plan. Go out with the lead pack and see how long I can hold on. If they drop a 5:00 on the first mile, I’ll probably get crushed. At least GS and Nemo are not going to race. If they were there, I’d have no shot at an AG place. A 19:44 would have taken 3rd in my AG last year at this race. I’d really like to see if I can go sub-20.

Today is New Year’s Eve so it’s time to consider some resolutions. I think I’ll be faster, stronger, and tougher than ever.

Stats
8 miles (1:04)
165 lbs

You'll easily keep the resolutions. You're already on a tear. Happy New Year!

Good luck. Per the Lima News, my PR is 17:48.
That was back in 1993 when I was much younger.
