Nemo, GS, and I met at Wilson Bridge for a 20 miler this morning. MD wisely cut the first 4 and last 2 since he is still recovering from injury. Nemo was setting a decent pace in the high 7’s on the way out. There was a suspect Double-D sighting but I was unable to determine if it was him or not. I know he missed last weekend due to the flu but he seems to be recovering. The MIT army was rolling too. There were tons of people out today with clear trails, sunny and 20 degrees.
After the turn around, the pace picked up steadily. MD and I let Nemo and GS go. It is frustrating but they are training for good April runs whereas I need to be ready in July. I pushed hard on the way back with a couple miles around 6:55 and most of the rest in the low 7s. I think the course was a ¼ mile short based on estimated pace but I averaged 7:30 to 7:35.
I’ve been hurting all day. My stomach is acidic feeling and my legs are still pulsing. I won’t be doing much today. I’d hoped for some spinning time but I’m not going to get it done. I’ll try to make up for it tomorrow with a good long indoor spin in the morning. After the spin, I’ll go for 2 loops at Highbanks if it isn’t covered in snow.
Funny story, I got a call from my younger brother, Dr. DB this afternoon. He was driving around Santa Clarita, California trying to find the start of today’s Tour of California stage. Dr. DB and my buddy Feebs drove the 6+ hours over from Phoenix to catch a glimpse of the tour day but forgot to bring information on the stage start. I had to Google Map the start and guide them in. Technology is great. 10 years ago before cell phones, Google, online race info and such he would have missed the start. Today, it took me 5 minutes to guide him to the starting area from across the country.

I'm still wearing compression socks, 8 hours after the run...
We may not have had directions to the start line, but WAIT until you see the pics and autograph that we got. What an day! It is already on my list for things to do next year.
