Tucson Training Camp - Day 2

I woke up with tired legs. MD and I ran the River Road trail. Running in a new place without GPS makes recording distances difficult. I own a Timex GPS Distance watch but I didn’t bring it a along out here. I probably should have. We decided on a 45 minute out and 45 minute back. The first half really didn’t feel very good. I think it takes a bit to get used to the heat and elevation here. The second half felt good.

After the Run we hit TriFest to drool over some bikes and all the new triathlon stuff. I fell in love with exactly one TT bike. The new Blue Competition TT bike is hot. This bike comes with a session in the Wind Tunnel in Charlotte, NC to get your position. My next moment of lust was a Beyond Fabrication TT Bike, a Kuota Road Bike, a Fuji TT Bike, and the latest QR TT bike. Other highlights were the BH road bike which I think MD will get before the season is over.

Besides not knowing running distances, I broke the odometer off my front fork when I packed up my bike. I just need a couple zip-ties to put it back on but I didn’t get it done before the afternoon ride. We rode from the condo to Colossal Caves. I was really suffering. I think MD wanted a few more miles but I called it quits and turned around. We had uncharacteristically overcast skies and a heavy wind.
